"The Leak Enders".

Do you understand warranty terminology when your contractor rattles of NDL, M&L or Total system?

Every manufacturer has multiple options to warrant their product. Some warranties cover material only and labor to replace said material. So if the material fails it will be replaced. That is a very basic warranty and is typically provided at no charge to the contractor by the manufacturer.

Most manufacturers will then step up to a Total System or No Dollar Limit Warranty. What this means is the manufacturer will, at its judgment and expense, repair or replace the roof area in question should the problem occur from poor installation or bad material.

No manufacturer will warrant damage from other trades, acts of God, vandalism and any other item outside of their control.

Roofing Terminology:

   Hypalon
A thermoset jacket material providing excellent abrasion and flex fatigue resistance; flame and oil resistance; and resistance to weather, ozone, and oxidizing chemicals. Ideal for industrial and petrochemical applications

 PVC

“Polyvinyl chloride.”
A high resistance to puncture and im-pact, an excellent resistance to flame exposure and subsequent fire propagation, proven durability against rooftop soiling and contamination, and good low-temperature flexibility and high-temperature tolerance

 APP

"Atactic polypropylene"
A modified asphalt, roofing membranes, reinforced with polyester and/or fiberglass mat offering excellent tensile strength and dimensional stability. Products are manufactured for the commercial / industrial, and residential markets.

  SBS

"Styrene-butadiene-styrene"
A modified asphalt, roofing membranes, reinforced with polyester and/or fiberglass mat offering superior flexibility, excellent tensile strength and dimensional stability. Products are manufactured for the commercial / industrial, and residential markets.

 TPO

"Thermoplastic Olefin"
The top layer, which is often white, is formulated with non-halogen flame-retardants , UV stabilizers, antioxidants and pigments (titanium di-oxide). The bottom layer is generally polymer-rich. The white top layer reflects sunlight and prevents thermal heating inside the building, thereby reducing air conditioning costs. TPO membranes are heat welded directly on the roof to form large sheets. This process eliminates the need for expensive solvent based adhesives that are commonly used in other single-ply roofing.
